DOUBLE STOREY ARRAY er en omorganisering af elementer fra tidligere udstillinger og et arrangement af stilladssøjler, 16mm film, video og fotogravure.

Arrangementets afsæt er Photographic Atlas of Auroral Forms and Scheme for Visual Observations of Aurorae (1930). Det fotografiske atlas over nordlysformer og den tilhørende vejledning i observationsteknik blev initieret af The Section of Terrestrial Magnetism and Air Electricity forud for Det 2. Internationale Polarår i 1932/1933, men er på udstillingen afsæt for en overvejelse af kontemporære forhold for kunstnerisk og videnskabelig billedproduktion. Hvordan, for eksempel, ville et billede af den ydre atmosfære se ud i dag? Formentlig ville det ikke ligne et fotografi af nordlys og ikke være et billede i traditionel forstand, men en aktiv og kortlæggende datavisualisering.

DOUBLE STOREY ARRAY, a solo exhibition by Eva la Cour at Danske Grafikere

DOUBLE STOREY ARRAY is a rearrangement of elements from previous exhibitions and an assemblage of scaffolding pillars, 16mm film, video and photogravure.

The starting point of the array is the Photographic Atlas of Auroral Forms and Scheme for Visual Observations of Aurorae (1930). This photographic atlas was initiated by The Section of Terrestrial Magnetism and Air Electricity prior to the 2nd International Polar Year in 1932/1933, but today it rather gives cause to consider contemporary conditions for artistic and scientific image production.
What, for example, would an image of the outer atmosphere look like today? Most likely, we would not find ourselves examining a photograph of the northern lights but some sort of data visualization actively charting movements of atmospheric particles.
